Well, I am amazed that nobody has done this before. I enjoy seeing the teenagers point of view in the creative end of the entertainment industry. I am an investor of project, not this one yet, still I would like to see how this one turns out. Since this sounds like the first take of prouction from these two new filmmakers, I am not expecting hollywood. The story seems to be original. I read in the Kenosha News a few weeks back that they are inviting the community to get involved and helpout wherever possibe.
It took me a second to get beyond the shock of these guys doing the first film pro-bono, afterall most people do it for profit, right? But then I realize that I am judging them to harshly because anyone starting there first feature will not always do it for immediate profit.
Of course that was wrong of me to judge them in that fashion. Their website is refreshing and surely shows that they are reaching multiple levels of the market for greater chances of utilizing the community to help spread the word about their brand new venture.
I haven’t met Brent or Matt, but I hope to, in the near future when they show the finished product next fall or soon after and then to see the next project to find out how much they have grown and learned from the trials and error most filmmakers go through in this indurty starting out.
I am glad to see such motivation in the town of Kenosha. Kenosha has many stars, these two gentlemen are proof of such success.
This is a great example of what filmmaking is all about!

Hey Belan,
I agree with your comment about judging them to harshly. I mean, what if we didn’t have the youth and their insight, we’d (at least a high percentage of us)would be sitting in our rocking chairs staring at the stars bored to death alot sooner than we’d like. I look at my grandkids and see the energy and excitement for the simple things. I see the same energy in what the movie makers for Haunted is doing. Motivation, energy, creativeness, and most importantly driven to pull a product together to the end.
Now, I will let you know that this first product may end up in a place not being used or it may be used and if these kids do another, it would be better than the first.
Afterall, I know that a friend of mine back in N.Y. ended up using is first full length film for a variety of neat trailers to promote for the second film.
What ended up happening was they found investors that asked them to re-make the first full length but only better. So, that’s just what they did, re-made the first full length but now with a fresh budget and the proper rental equipment and cameras to make it all happen. I call that moving up in this industry as well as learning and not giving up on what you started.
I anticipate the same drive and openess with Brent and Matt. I am also with you, Belan, on seeing what comes of the first one and to see what these kids will do with the results or outcome at the end of their first run. The sky is the limit and I don’t expect these kids will give up trying to succeed no matter what the outcome is.
Kids now-a-days don’t get the chance to show their creative side, as I see it here, this is one way they are able to do such as thing.
I didn’t get a chance to see the article in the Kenosha News, but I did go to the website off of a friends referal to this site. My opinion on the site is this: They are kids and this is their first one so let’s support these kids anyway we can because it seems that these two (Brent and Matt) will do whatever it takes to make it.
I enjoyed reading this and hope only the best from such drive. A drive that will be viewed as a plus for the Kenosha Area. Thanks Belan for opening my eyes to what I call “a slap in the face” which I needed to get beyond the mindset I had about kids and allowing them to take on the world with movies on their own. They may not be able to do it fully on their own but it seems to me their on the right path and we just need to stick together as a community and back them up whenever we can. Kids are our future!
I’m 57 years old and just a factory worker, but I like reading stories like this here in my home town of Kenosha.

i think this is the the koolest movie ever! i hope this can go far in the movie making!!!!!
I think this is the best ever I hope people come check this out and they make it big time.
I worked security on this film in new munster and these two guys really have great heads on thier shoulders and I truely think they can go all the way as long as they stay focused. They have great ideas and a possitive energy noone who has met them can deny.
I was at the shoot at New Munster, and I agree with all the praises made so far to these two fine young talents. You make all of us with any connection to Kenosha proud! I look forward to the eventual debut of this great film, and am sure there will be more fine works down the road by these guys. Keep up the good work!!
Brent is a powerful director and Matt a dedicated and talented guy, too - they are taking a lot on - I am proud to know these guys - and know they’ll meet with success!
I have a quote by Stacia Tauscher on my frig “We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that his is someone today.” Too often we discount the youth in our society because they ARE young. I am not acquainted with this project, but am pleased to see that these efforts are being made to promote their vision. One of my own 18 year old sons is an aspiring filmmaker, and it is great to see his peers setting such a fine example of all that one can accomplish when you follow your dreams.
