Yes it’s that time of the year for the ubiquitous “best of 2007″ list, so why not one for ExposeKenosha?
So, if you missed anybody being “exposed” in 2007, here’s your second chance. While you do that, we’ll finish transcribing the interviews that we are working on, and decide who is going to be exposed next year (don’t worry, with all your help and suggestions, we’ve already got a pretty good idea).
Trust you are having a wonderful holiday season. Thank you again to all those who gave their time and energy towards making AHA! a successful organization. Many things were accomplished, milestones were reached and it could not have happened without everyone’s vision and dedication.
We are starting a brand new year full of unlimited possibilities and AHA! Kenosha will continue to uphold it’s mission by increasing the positive buzz surrounding the artistic community and bringing more awareness to all Kenosha has to offer.
We have 40 members and growing! This shows that Kenosha is moving in the right direction. This movement however will not happen over night so remember to spread the word about joining AHA! Kenosha and be a continuous advocate for the artistic community.
Brand new brochures will be available soon so let me know how many your organization needs for a display!
“…Hello! My name is Dustin Laurenzi.
I am a saxophonist and guitarist from the Southeastern Wisconsin area but I am now residing in Bloomington, Indiana (for most of the year) where I study jazz saxophone at Indiana University. At IU I have the privilege of working with jazz legend David Baker, Tom Walsh, Pat Harbison, Steve Houghton and more.
Currently, my main focus is jazz, ranging from early swing to hard bop, latin-jazz to fusion and everything in between…”
from his myspace page.
Justin just posted a track of himself playing Stella By Starlight.
He says “It’s kinda just me messing around and trying some new things so there are some rough spots, but check it out!”

We will try try to “expose” Dustin next time that he comes to town.
“…The images in my exhibit are inspiring! They capture hundreds of years of history and culture, they are unique in that I captured some in unique angles, and they are not this area. It is something different to look at for people who live here and a reminder of memories for those who have been there to visit…”

Congratulations to Kate on her solo show at Lemon Street, If you missed this Friday, you can still enjoy her photography; the exhibit will run until January 20.

Kate Fallucca and her photography are a wonderful addition to the Kenosha art community. From the moment she arrived to our city her exuberance has involved her in Lemon Street Gallery, the board of the Kenosha Art Association, and helping out where ever she can like at the Pollard Gallery. The first day I met her at Lemon Street her energy overwhelmed me. Her work reveals a connection with nature and the out-of-doors. Frequently, looking at her photography makes you wish you could have been traveling with her.
Franco: Tell me a bit about where you’re from and your travels and what brought you to Kenosha. Continue reading →
