Location: This show will be broadcast LIVE from Room 120 “The WGTD Radio Theater” of the Bioscience and Information Technology Center on the Kenosha Campus of Gateway Technical College, 3520-30th Avenue, Kenosha.
On Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 11:15 am, the WGTD Radio Theater presents its’ holiday production of “Miracle on 30th Avenue.” This year’s holiday story was written by Steven Brown and Michael Ullstrup, both of Salem, and is based on the Valentine Davies 1947 short story and motion picture “Miracle on 34th Street,” celebrating it’s 60th anniversary this year.
Our special guest star is Mr. Alvin Greenman, who played the role of “Alfred”, the Macy’s janitor and part-time Santa Claus, and will take on the character of “Governor Greenman.” Greenman, 76, lives in Los Angeles, and was extremely pleased to become a member of the 91.1 Players.
According to Greenman, “Being asked to be part of this WGTD Radio production is a great pleasure, because the movie “Miracle on 34th Street” changed my life forever. I am always pleased to be interviewed and participate in events that honor this wonderful film.”
Greenman’s part, which has been recorded, will be inserted live into the broadcast. WGTD’s Steve Brown interviewed Greenman, which will air on Friday, December 14th, as part of WGTD’s “Morning Show,” hosted by Gregory Berg.
Story Synopsis
“Miracle on 30th Avenue” takes place in Kenosha, and tells the story about Kris Kringle, who tries his best to make sure that the annual Christmas Parade is not cancelled. Through the help of many of the kids in the cast, Kris (played by Terry Lawler) and Bobby (Bobby Pirtle) work together to do more than just save the parade. A little bit of magic, hope, and courage also play a part in bring the story to a happy ending.
Cast members from the 91.1 Players featured in this drama are: Bobby Pirtle (Racine), Terry Lawler, David McGrath, and Don Jensen, all from Kenosha. Evan and Kathy Zuhlke, both of Pleasant Prairie, Vittoria DuMez (Kenosha) and Victoria Paura Ide (Somers). Don Jensen is also the director of this year’s holiday story.
Food and beverages will be available at Café 91.1, a full-service coffeehouse located in the Atrium of the Bioscience and Information Technology Center.

The fourth season of the WGTD Radio Theater begins on Saturday, January 26th, with the world premier of “The New Adventures of Rock, Bullwinkle, and Friends.”
