Lemon Street Gallery’s 7th Annual Juried Exhibit represents artists from across Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, Ohio, Iowa and Indiana in this diverse show of professional artwork. Not only a variety of neighboring states but also a rich variety of media is represented in this exhibition. This year, Harry Wirth, a professor of art and design at Northern Illinois University, and had, what would be to us the daunting task of being the juror for this exhibit.
Just how much artwork did you have to review for this show?
I reviewed 129 artworks by 47 artists. 42 pieces were carefully selected representing 22 artists. There was a 33% chance of being included in this show.

The cannon boomed and the flags flew.
Add sunshine, blue skies, and a brisk breeze and you have a beautiful backdrop for the hundreds of people who enjoyed the music and songs and color guards as numerous dignitaries dedicated the Civil War Museum.
Beautiful inside and out, the museum was well represented by a few big hearted re-enactors who offered their time and patience to share a few of the details that will make history live for you. Continue reading →

Lt. Governor Lawton and State Superintendent Burmaster Announce Wisconsin Task Force on Arts and Creativity in Education
“Creativity and innovation will be the cornerstone of Wisconsin competitiveness in the years ahead,” Lawton said. “We must make strategic investments now to ensure Wisconsin has the bright innovators and entrepreneurs we need to drive our state forward.”
MILWAUKEE—At a press conference today at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton and State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster announced they will co-chair the Wisconsin Task Force on Arts and Creativity in Education, convened to ensure Wisconsin the creative workforce and entrepreneurial talent necessary for the state to compete well in a 21st century global economy.
