Josie: What are you involved with in Kenosha?
Judy: I am Involved as county board supervisor, also involved in the
Copy Center. In addition to this;
Rhode Center for the Arts, which includes the Pollard Gallery and Lakeside Players. A little background about Rhode… Rhode theatre was originally the Gateway Theater in 1927. The property was owned by the Rhode family, and given to the downtown business district in 1987.
Josie: In your opinion what does this city need?
Judy: Entertainment expansion of the downtown, so that it can be seen as an entertainment district, and would also promote private businesses.
Josie: Time travel into the next few years, what do you see?
Judy: Trolleys going to Parkside and Carthage. Bike paths with lots of people on them. Downtown becoming a wanted destination from all over Wis, and IL because of what we have.
Josie: How long have you been at Rhode Center for the arts and Pollard Gallery?
Judy: Been at the Rhode since 1986, when at first I walked in and had to climb over the rubble.
Josie: If a chipmunk was sitting in the drivers seat of your car and he refused to get out what method of coaxing him out would you use?
Judy: Use nuts and a nutty person to work at it.
Josie: Koolaid or Lemonade?
Judy: Lemonade.
Josie: Tell me about some upcoming events?
Judy: There is the 8th annual Bowls and Books soup contest at the Rhode. People buy a ticket and score all the different kinds of soup being offered to taste. There are eight restaurants from 11-1, and eight more from 5-7.
Josie: Help us learn about yourself…..Fill out this mad lib.
Judy:
I was born in the land of pink trumpets, ten thousand lakes, and red wax coated Judy Garland slippers.
Eventually I saw that I had to see more of the world and I did. After a while Wisconsin and jello looked good.
Kenosha’s clogged drains are always minimal. The most important thing to me is my family, neighborhood and friends…
Judy Rossow, you have been “exposed”
Judy is organizing the 8th Bowls and Books. Come and vote for “the soup” at the Rhode Center for the Arts on Wednesday, March 19. All proceeds are for the renovation project at the Rhode Center for the Arts. It has been an ongoing effort for the last 20 years. Click HERE for more information

Judy was also an active Kenosha Rotary President and is currently an active Rotarian.
She is an important person in our community.
I can always count on Judy for sound, CALM, advice. She is an earnest, insightful worker for the arts, and we are so lucky to have her here in Kenosha! (She actually works hard for a lot of things in Kenosha, but I only know the art things!) Thank you, Judy!
