Scott: Why did you decide to become an artist?

Scott: I didn’t have a choice.

Scott: You mean, it was fate, or destiny, or you were born an artist?

Scott: No. I was fired from every real job I ever had, so I needed something to keep me busy.

Scott: What do you think about while you paint?

Scott: My obligations.

Scott: Your obligation to society? Or to history? Or our collective culture?

Scott: No, my obligation to Citibank. I owe them like $3800.

Scott: Do Artists live in ivory towers?

Scott: I don’t know, but I once slept in a box that used to hold Ivory soap.

Scott: Does art imitate life, or does life imitate art?

Scott: Life imitates money. Money intimidates art.

Scott: How do you feel about the role of the artist as a guardian of culture?

Scott: The “guardians of culture” are VPs of banks, who have tickets to the ballet and stuff like that. All of the artists I know are broke. They don’t have anything worth guarding.

Scott: Why do you paint naked people?

Scott: In art school, I cut class the day we were supposed to learn how to paint cloth.

Scott: Thank you for the interview. You were cool.

Scott: I know.

Scott Moore, you have “exposed” yourself

The “Bob Ross Nudes” runs from March 6 through March 30, at the 716: Fine Art Gallery in Racine.
The title of the show is based in the fact the that Scott uses the same knife and technique to create his paintings as the popular painter.

Now THAT’S an interview… I truly feel as if I know the artist! Nice paintings, too!
