ArtWorks celebrated it’s second successful opening in the new art gallery with the debut of “Vivid” Saturday evening. The four featured artists, Diane Levesque, Lisa Bigalke, Meade O’Neill, and Benjamin D. Rinehart, displayed their uniqueness and their shared love of strong color.

If you missed the pleasure of the Saturday opening, the show will run through June 15. In the meantime we offer a sampling of the art and the opening festivities.

Treat yourself. It is a show to enjoy.

Last Friday Kathy Labourn graced the Pollard with her art and her charm. Both the Pollard and the enthusiastic crowd were richer for it.

    Enough said.

I’ll have a very unique performance May 10 in a new Art Gallery in downtown Racine called 716 Fine Art (401 Main St) that will also feature occasional intimate concerts, poetry readings and other cool stuff. This is such a good fit for the kind of artistic community I am trying to get going in Kenosha. I will be performing some of my songs in a very laid back atmosphere along with talking about my songs, myself, performance, whatever the audience is interested in. It will be a kind of get to know Jill Plaisted better.

Check out “Days of Wine and Roses” and my arrangement of “I’m an Old Cowhand” on my page! They’re from the John Valdez Quintet gig at Jazz at the Station on Saturday night. My apologies for the low quality of the recording (especially I’m an Old Cowhand) I had to compress the files somewhat in order for them to fit on here.

We are looking forward to see Dustin at Bloomin’ Days 2008!

    Enjoy!
