CCS2 is:

  • A three-day conference rooted in the creative economy movement coming to Detroit October 13-15, 2008.
  • A dynamic and engaging Web 2.0 enabled conversation about how communities around the world are integrating innovation, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, arts & culture and business to create vibrant economies.
  • An environmentally-friendly conference that will track its carbon footprint and commit to following best sustainability practices . . .

Above is a link to a 3-day conference I will attend in October in Detroit in preparation for our arts district development, KenoshaUnionParkProject. (I already bought my plane ticket and hotel. I’m waiting to register for the conference itself until the early-bird deadline, Sept 12, to see if I can get a scholarship.)

Can you suggest someone from Kenosha who would like to attend this conference?. It seems that it will be excellent information for developing creative neighborhoods, with top-rate speakers (one being Richard Florida, author of “Rise of the Creative Class,”) and many breakout sessions. It is better if 2 or more people go to these things, so they can split up and cover all the sessions.

I purchased airfare and 4 nights lodging at the conference center on Orbitz for $596. This is about $100 less than booking the hotel through the conference center’s CCS block of rooms.

Best regards,
Melanie
