Frank is in the process of reestablishing himself in the art scene. He recently installed a painting at Veronico’s Café in Burlington. The painting is called “Industrial Blue”. 336 North Pine Street, 262-763-2333

He chose the blue instead of red or yellow or purple or green because most of the work in his life has been done out of anger. He’s at a point now in his life where, though he might still have anger and there’s no one he can blame for his anger, he doesn’t need to put that anger out there for everyone else. He’s trying to find peace and serenity and that’s the vibe he wishes to express.
He does certain paintings for shock value. For instance, in the 1980s his reputation was said by an art critic to be ‘the hottest up and coming artist in the city’. A few months later, when he did a show that was very visually appalling and industrial which is the way he likes to describe his work, the critic was in fact appalled and that’s what he wrote. “The first time he wrote about me I got about two lines. But the second time, I got a whole paragraph.” Frank said with a big smile on his face and a hint of a sinister giggle. “He did more for me not liking me than he ever did liking me.”
What he’s doing now is coming out of hiding. His art has been dormant. He works in so many different mediums that it’s difficult to define what kind of progress he’s making. He created the word prolessativity to describe how active he’s been. He has been contemplating his mortality and realized he’s giving away a lot of his ideas to other artist and seeing the other artists do the work and get all kinds of credit for it. “I’m not really seeking credit, I do a lot of art work that I don’t even sign my own name to. I create other artists depending on my mood.” He’s proud of himself for that because no matter how good he thinks he is or other people think he is, he still has a certain amount of humbleness behind everything.
