Walk into Lakeshore Used Books and what will you find?
You will find 10,000 different titles, both fiction and non fiction, hardcover and softcover. This is a traditional used bookstore, with many treasures to discover:
- Large Art Music and Crafts section.
- Many shelves of Military and History Books.
- Religious books and Bibles.
- Bargain Hardcovers priced at 5 for $9.95.
- Special areas for collectors and a huge selection of cookbooks priced at 3 for $5.00.
- A Children’s Corner and an ever-expanding display of Paperback Fiction.
Lakeshore Used Books is located across from Union Park at 711 46th St. It is open Mon-Thurs from 12-5 and Saturday and Sunday from 1-5. Proprietor Andra Schroeder often lights up the Open Sign earlier than the posted hours. On the Second Saturday of each month Lakeshore stays open until 9:00 p.m.

How could you not! Everytime I enter this wonderful neighborhood gem, I find something. Even if it wasn’t the item I was looking for in the first place. I never fail to walk out with a number of books to add to my personal library, or to give as gifts to someone special.
This bookstore is just the most wonderful nook to spend time surrounded by books, books, books…anything and everything a book store should be…spend some time there and take a book or two home with you. You’ll love it, and it’s right across the street of Union Park. Thank you Andra for your tender care of this “neighborhood gem”.
I love this book store. There are so many different books and I can never stop myself from buying several each time I visit.
