“President Lincoln’s Washington” a bus tour
May 27-June 3, 2009
A bus tour of Washington, D.C., Monticello and other historic sites will focus on “President Lincoln’s Washington” in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The tour departs May 27, 2009 and returns June 3.
Tour highlights include a tour of the Beckley Coal Mine, Thomas Jefferson’s home Monticello, Lincoln’s summer home, Ford’s Theater and the Peterson Home where Lincoln died. There will be a nighttime tour of monuments, tours of the Smithsonian Museums, Mt. Vernon and Gettysburg.
The fully escorted motor coach tour includes seven nights lodging, 16 meals and admission to all feature attractions.
Cost is $1,515 per person double occupancy or $1,465 per person for Friends of the Museum. People can sign up before January 30 to receive a discount of $50. Minimum deposit is $500 per person with final payment due Feb. 20.
