The Civil War Museum presents”Civil War Slavery and the Underground Railroad”
Behind the Scenes Tour & Theatre Presentation

Civil War Museum curator Doug Dammann will provide a detailed study of slavery, the Underground Railroad and abolitionism in the Upper Middle West during a “Behind the Scenes Tour” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 at the Civil War Museum. The after-hours tour will feature the Quarlls letters, a slave bill of sale, slave collar and other artifacts and images in the museum’s collection.
The gallery tour will be given in conjunction with a Civil War Museum Theatre Program presentation featuring the story of Ida B. Wells, the daughter of slaves who became a civil rights advocate. The theater presentations are funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the State of Wisconsin.
Cost is $15 or $10 FOM/Seniors. The cost of the program includes admission to “The Fiery Trial” exhibit, the theatre program presentation and discussion with the curator. The Civil War Museum is located at 5400 First Avenue in Kenosha. The Museum is open daily, Sunday-Monday 12-5pm and Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm.
