RG Productions presents the Kenosha return of most infamous crime fighter of all, The Shadow, at the 3rd Annual Tribute to Orson Welles. The fun-filled event will be held at 1 p.m. on May 2, at the Kenosha Masonic Lodge, 807 61st Street, Kenosha. Pre-show entertainment starts at 12:30 p.m.
Join local stage and radio actors, led by Jan Michalski, who has portrayed Welles with the group for several years, as they keep the memory of Kenosha’s visionary son alive with a staged performance of two radio plays, The Shadow and Suspense, complete with LIVE music and sound effects in the Old Time Radio style. The cast and crew for both shows includes: Scott Annala, Doug Despin, Ed Godula, Rick Hagerty, Jeff Hunter, Jim Kollar, Rich Krapf, Carrie Messersmith, Ryan Nelson, Jamie Rauth, Joan Roehre, Dan Stika, Gary Stamm, Leslie Utech, George Wertke and Susanne Wilczek. RG Productions producer Nita Hunter will direct the shows.
The performance takes place at the historic Kenosha Masonic Lodge, just one block from Orson Welles’ boyhood home and is free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be served. Call (847) 710-2027 for more information or visit us on the web @ www.rgaudioproductions.com
As part of the afternoon’s festivities, the Masonic Lodge will be open for tours. The Neo-Classical Revival Masonic Temple was built in 1924 at a cost of $300,000. The building features two Lodge rooms on the second floor. The largest of the meeting rooms continues the Neo-Classical Revival design, while the smaller reflects an Egyptian esthetic. The first floor is dominated by the ballroom which can easily seat 200. Doors will open at 12:00 noon, with tours of the building being offered prior to and following the performance of the radio plays. For additional information concerning the Masonic Lodge or the tours call (262) 914-7810 .
