Artist Nan Pollard was honored Sunday at the Pollard Gallery in Kenosha. The magazine Illustration featured a 20 page story on Nan’s 55 year career illustrating children’s books. The article, written by Nan’s grandson, Ross Pollard, shared a broad selection of Nan’s art.
Nan’s art is currently on display at the Pollard Gallery, 518 56th Street, Kenosha, WI.

Rain might have been in Saturday’s forecast, but luckily it held off long enough to help make the first day of the 2009 outdoor HarborMarket season a big success. Through patches of both cloudiness and sunshine, a bustling crowd was out enjoying the mild weather and charming Market atmosphere.
I got to the Market shortly before 1 p.m., and decided that since there were more vendors this season, my best bet was to do a “walk through” first, and then go back around again to buy the things that caught my eye. A good theory, but when it came down to it, it didn’t quite work; most everything was catching my eye that afternoon! There were a lot of familiar faces, but also new vendors, selling a fantastic medley of items. Continue reading →
