Brent Allen Caputo joins over 80 actors from Milwaukee, Chicago and Los Angeles that make up the new horror fantasy feature, Thinking Speed.
The story centers around the murder of Ethan James by his on-again, off-again girlfriend, dubbed the Northeasy Killer. Northeasy kills Ethan on the way home from a Piebald concert at Fireside Bowl in Chicago after a climactic discussion regarding their relationship.
During a phone call from her father on the night of the event, Northeasy discovers the mother of Ethan James made a pact with the devil at Woodstock, trading the next three generations for the preservation of the Baby Boomers. For five years, Northeasy has been doomed to work in a book store similar to purgatory that serves living customers. Each Reader who buys her biography, rung up by Northeasy herself, is forced to witness the murder of Ethan James.
The Reader, played by four men and four women, accompany Northeasy on her quest to return to her everyday life until she realizes this is not possible, and becomes lost in a series of catastrophic events.
The end has a sharp plot twist which segues to a planned sequel.
Caputo plays Jake, an easily conned shop owner, adept at fixing all sorts of situations and inventions. He is assigned to guard the haunted speakeasy turned oxygen bar, Vent.
Jake’s function is to strike up conversations with potential females that Dante Migali may find suitable for bearing the first child of the soul trade’s captive third generation.
The film is set to wrap on December 21st, and its trailer has already been getting attention from distributors and festivals around the world.
Thinking Speed has had a request to show its trailer for a question and answer at the Firestarter Films event on January 15th, 2010. An official release and premiere date is scheduled to be announced in March 2010.
