Tammy Peacy is a local writer who loves to sing. She hopes it shows.
Tammy is half of the acoustic duo The Bakers. (You’ll get it in a second.) The Bakers covers music of the last three decades and will be working in some original songs soon (they hope).
The second half of The Bakers is Jim Pendleton. (Get it?)
Jim Pendleton began his pursuit of music at an early age, becoming the Midwest’s youngest auto-harp player. A tragic Mumbly Peg accident in Boy Scouts forced him to turn his focus to percussion. (He won a guitar in grade school and briefly dedicated himself to the Blues, but lost interest after learning the three chords.)
Beginning at age 13, he played in several area bar bands, eventually seeing the light and leading a church band (he was released for un-Christian behavior).
Jim feels fortunate to be playing with Tammy, saying, “We have similar tastes in music. Plus, I get to play acoustic guitar and not have to play Dylan, Neil Young, or Johnny Cash. Plus, she’s awfully pretty, too.”
Jim is currently working toward a degree in music; he is learning all the things he’s been doing wrong for 35 years.
The “BeExposed!” performance series is a monthly event at Carolyn’s Coffee Connection (1355-52nd Street, Kenosha, WI 53140), spotlighting artists of all disciplines and celebrating the power of creativity.
