A very tasteful festival is returning to the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan in Kenosha, Wisconsin this summer. In its second year, Taste of Wisconsin will take place at Kenosha’s Harbor Promenade (6th Avenue & 54th Street, downtown Kenosha) July 30 – August 1, 2010 (Friday 3‐10pm, Saturday 11am‐10pm, Sunday 11am‐8pm). Taste of Wisconsin is a celebration of all things tasteful and all things uniquely Wisconsin in their flavor. Admission is FREE.
This year’s event will be bigger and better in many ways. Over 50 food and beverage vendors will line the promenade along Kenosha’s lakeshore, along with three stages of live music, culinary demonstrations, and family friendly exhibits and activities. On the menu are artisan cheeses, organic meats, homemade pies and ice cream, fresh produce, Wisconsin brats, pulled pork, gourmet spices and sauces, and much, much more. And to wash it all down, an array of microbrew and traditional beers, flavorful wines, coffees, and specialty drinks will be featured. Vendors will accept cash for all food and non‐alcoholic beverages and products. Tickets will be sold at designated booths to redeem for beer and wine.
Adding to the fabulous lakefront ambiance, over 40 live musical acts will take to three music stages on the Taste of Wisconsin grounds to serenade festival goers as they enjoy their fare. Music genres to suit all tastes will be represented, from pop, rock, country and indie, to jazz, big band, folk and blues.
The popular Demonstration Tent will be bigger and better as well this year with over a dozen presentations ranging from cooking demonstrations and organic gardening workshops to nutritional seminars and cake decorating demos.
New to this year’s Taste of Wisconsin is a food drive for Kenosha’s own Shalom Center, a shelter program offering daily meal services and a food pantry to those in need in the Kenosha area. Visitors to Taste of Wisconsin are encouraged to bring non‐perishable food items to the event and drop them at the special collection bins at any one of the three entrances.
Taste of Wisconsin is produced by the Kiwanis Club of Western Kenosha, an organization dedicated to serving local charities.
