You are invited to attend Local Author Christine Verstraete’s Book Signing at Down The Rabbit Hole (5709 7th Avenue)
Samantha Ann Carlton would rather spend her summer vacation anywhere but a spooky old house in Wisconsin…like Lake Geneva! Somehow Sam knows it is going to take more than a couple days to find a missing painting no bigger than her hand.
But maybe things won’t be so bad, she thinks, since she gets to take a friend’s lovable, nosy, and often mischievous Dachshund, Petey, and her best friend Lita. If they’re lucky, the three of them can find the miniature replica of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” and help Sam’s mother get it to the museum, where it belongs.

*Project Innovate: A Performing Dance Co.
(Dancers ages 10-18 years with extreme dance, gymnastics, or theater experience)
*(PI: PDC) Minis (Dancers ages 7 through 11)
No recreational classes will be offered until the Fall! At this time only company dance positions are available. These dancers will follow a mandatory class/rehearsal schedule.

RG Productions Presents
A Cowboy Poetry Gathering
Saturday, July 19, 12:30 p.m.
Kenosha Public Museum
RG Productions will present an open mike in the traditional style of a Cowboy Poetry Gathering as part of their next Old-Time Radio recreation: “Heroes of the Western Range : Gunsmoke & The Lone Ranger.”
Artists interested in sharing their cowboy poetry, readings, or music are invited to perform at the gathering. If writers wish, their poetry or readings may be performed by actors who are part of RG Productions. In a decidedly more modern twist, the gathering will be both webcast and aired on WRLR, 98.3 FM, Lake County , IL.

You’re invited to participate in the next First Mondays event on July 7th, beginning at 6:30 PM, at the Kenosha Media Center, 1403 Washington Road (inside the Time Warner Cable building).
At this event, TV producer Dan Stika will present his new production, A Closer Look At American History, on the Media Center’s ultra-screen. The program is 30 minutes in length. Afterward, Stika will answer questions from the audience. For the time remaining in this evening’s event, Jason Rimkus, Media Coordinator, will demonstrate use of the Media Center’s new studio tripods.

The Vagina Monologues are coming to the Rhode Center for the Arts’ Skinner Hall. This show is starring Melissa Kelly Cardamone, Laura Larson, and Brandi Schuld, all from Kenosha.
Regular seating is 12.00, VIP seating is 15.00 and requires reservations prior to the performance date.

King & Cos is the guitar duo of Virginia King & John Costigan. In the past year and a half we’ve given a series of concerts at the Kemper Center in the Kady Faulkner building.
We perform many of John’s original songs, which are full of strange and beautiful chord changes and witty lyrics. Come, and you’ll hear an eclectic mix of folk, country, jazz, blues, rock, and John’s originals.

Auditions are announced for the first show of the season: “Of Grapes and Nuts” by Illegitimate Players, a surefire satire on John Steinbeck. This irreverent, clever spoof combines characters from his two most famous works - ‘Grapes of Wrath” and “Of Mice and Men”.
There are 14 roles - 4 female and 10 male. Some of the actors may play more than one role. Readings will be from the script although prepared monologues are welcome. Audition nights are Sunday, July 6th at 7:00pm and Tuesday, July 8th at 7:00pm. Auditions will be held at the Rhode Center for the Arts at 514 56th St. in Kenosha.
Performance dates are September 5,6,7,12,13,14,19 and 20th. Scripts are available for perusal at the Copy Center, 5036 6th Ave.
