I thought it would be really cool to have Michael LaMacchia interviewed for Expose Kenosha while he was in town performing. So Francisco asked ME to write it since Michael is my cousin. My first attempt so here it goes…………..
Maria — Thank you Michael and Lynn for taking time from your busy schedule while you are in Kenosha to meet with me.
Michael — Thank you.
Maria — SO great having you back home in Kenosha Michael. How does it feel playing in your home town?
Michael — It feels great. I was maybe nervous the very first time, about 4 years ago, but I’m feeling really confident about the band and how we’re playing.
The Kenosha Public Museum hosted a Combined Artists Reception on Sunday, August 17, for Lemon Street Gallery, “Living Planet”, and the Kenosha Art Association, “The Colors of the Rainbow”.
Guided by their respective themes, member artists and their guests enjoyed an inspired celebration of nature, color, and art presented in a variety of media.
If you missed the reception, you can enjoy this visual treat through September 14, 2008.

The Wisconsin Arts Board seeks artists with project ideas for 2009 that involve collaborations with their Wisconsin communities. Submit project proposals to the Arts Board through the Artist & Community Collaborations (ACC) grant program. Submission deadline is October 15, 2008.
Lemon Street Gallery, 4601 Sheridan Road, will host an Artists’ Forum about this opportunity on Monday, September 8th at 5:00 PM and invites performing, visual, and literary artists of Kenosha, Racine, and surrounding areas to attend. Mark Fraire, Grants Specialist with Wisconsin Arts Board, will discuss the grant process and answer questions.
Lemon Street Gallery encourages all artists to attend this forum and apply for this grant. The Arts Board is particularly interested in applications from musicians, visual artists, and writers because these disciplines have been under-represented in past applicant pools.
Please RSVP to Melanie Hovey, Executive Director of Lemon Street Gallery, at (262) 605-4745 or at lemonstreetgallery@hotmail.com.
