What is National Arts and Humanities Month?
National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is a coast-to-coast collective celebration of culture in America. Held every October and coordinated by Americans for the Arts, it has become the largest annual celebration of the arts and humanities in the nation. From arts center open houses to mayoral proclamations to banners and media coverage, communities across the United States join together to recognize the importance of arts and culture to citizen’s daily lives.

Frank Husemann – Reestablishing Himself In The Art Scene . . .

Frank is in the process of reestablishing himself in the art scene. He recently installed a painting at Veronico’s Café in Burlington. The painting is called “Industrial Blue”. 336 North Pine Street, 262-763-2333

He chose the blue instead of red or yellow or purple or green because most of the work in his life has been done out of anger. He’s at a point now in his life where, though he might still have anger and there’s no one he can blame for his anger, he doesn’t need to put that anger out there for everyone else. He’s trying to find peace and serenity and that’s the vibe he wishes to express. Continue reading →

Kenosha’s Superhero Mural . . .

Mike Cooper Paints a Superhero Mural in Kenosha.

Mike Cooper show us the mural he is painting on the west wall of the Heroes & Dreams Comic Book store on 30th Ave. & Roosevelt Rd. in Kenosha. You can find him most days at the comic book store working on the mural. He expects to finish sometime in Sept. 2008.
