“Oh What A Night!”: January’s Second Saturday . . .

The first time I experienced Second Saturdays, I had a great time, plain and simple. There was plenty of good music, intriguing art, and lots of warm conversation to liven up a cold winter night. The only thing marring my experience was the fact that there were far too many places I didn’t get to visit, leaving me with a twinge of disappointment. Wanting to give myself another chance to do it right, I waited patiently for this month’s second week. Saturday rolled around—and I woke up to snow falling at a brisk pace, blanketing the landscape and making the roads semi-treacherous, once again. After a little bit of mumbled cursing, I reminded myself that I do live in Wisconsin, where this sort of thing is a way of life in the winter. I decided that a little steely resolve was in order; let a few flakes intimidate me? Of course not! So I went through my day, and as evening set in, I navigated the slushy streets to Sheridan Road.
