February 2nd, 2009 — EK70, Carolyn's Coffee Connection, Downtown Kenosha, ExposeKenosha
By Ronald Paul Larson

This is the another one in a series of interviews with people in Kenosha who may not necessarily be artists, but through their life experience, actions, and their dedicated work ethic make this a better place for the artist community.

However, she couldn’t find a coffee shop that was open before 7 a.m. “I’m up at 5:00 and that’s when I need coffee. By 7 a.m., I am fine. I don’t need it any more.” It was this inability to find a coffee shop open before 7 a.m. that first inspired her to open Carolyn’s Coffee Connection three years ago. Continue reading →

February 2nd, 2009 — 365 Mondays, EK70, Kenosha Writers' Group, ExposeKenosha

The Kenosha Writers’ Group is not only fun-loving, supportive, welcoming and diverse, but are united by our common passion for writing. The group has been meeting the third Thursday of every month for several years now, most recently at our new “home”, The Nook. Members run the gamut; from those who simply enjoy writing in their spare time, to published authors who are working on new novels or other projects. At every meeting, members share their work and are given honest, constructive feedback. New members are always welcome, so if you have an interest in writing, stop by. You’d be hard pressed to find a more supportive and encouraging group of people!
With the beginning of a new year, the Kenosha Writers’ Group has embarked on an exciting new project and invites the community to get involved through reading and commenting. “365 Mondays”, Continue reading →
