“SWEET” ON KENOSHA ART EXHIBITION

sweet.jpg

This Solo Art Exhibition at the Pollard Gallery, 518 56th Street, Kenosha, WI will begin July 1 and continue through August 31, 2008.

Original oil and acrylic paintings feature favorite seascapes, landscapes and familiar Kenosha landmarks captured by local artist Joan Stanich, a lifetime resident of the Kenosha area.

Joan’s recent paintings reflect her love for many special sites that evoke a sense of history, pleasure and relaxation. From a red streetcar to sailboats on Lake Michigan, lighthouses, beaches, gardens and woodland paths, she invites the viewer to escape from the ordinary and join the fun.

Joan has been painting for 15 years and is a member of the Kenosha Art Association and the Pollard Gallery. Her works have been selected in juried art exhibitions at the Anderson Arts Center, Kenosha, and the Hardy Gallery in Door County, WI.

Other guest artists include Brigitta Richter, Joe Barr, Dave Watling, Carolyn Garland, Alan Schaubel, Bruce McCurdy and Nick Cibrario. Also on display is a portion of the Pollard Family Collection.

Opening reception is “Second Saturday”, July 12th, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesday thru Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
