Matt here. Demske calls me “the seedy underbelly of BONK!” I can’t say that I disagree.
Always wondered what the folks at BONK! do when they’re not at BONK!? Well, me neither. But now that you mention it, I do have a mildly BONK!-related bit of info to pass on:
Tomorrow night, June 13th, at 8pm, at the 6th Street Theater, in Racine, WI, is an event called “Underscored.” The idea is music underscored by art. Former BONK! performers David Tomaloff (coordinator of this particular event) and Katie LaFond will be playing an acoustic set. Matt Specht, co-founder and usual suspect of all things BONK! will be on hand to play a set, as well. Rounding out the evening will be a set from Zachary Scot Johnson. On the walls will be art and/or photography from Rebecca Venn, Chet Griffith, Kyle Servais, Jen Bahling, and that Matt Specht guy. Watch out for him, by the way. I hear he’s trouble.
The 6th Street Theater is located on 6th Street (oddly enough) in downtown Racine. You’ll have to climb over some construction workers to get there, but that might be fun for some of you.
I would suggest a phone call ahead of time to reserve your seat. Tickets for this fine event are $10 each. The Theater can be reached at 262.632.6802. This practice is merely encouraged - it is not required. If you do not call ahead of time, you will still be able to get tickets at the door (provided there are any left). But really, is this the type of situation where you wanna take that risk?
And don’t miss the next BONK!, of course. June 27th at 6pm.
